is code for “We’re really pissed Chris Eccleston refused to come back so we’re just going to pretend he was never part of the canon and have our real Ninth Doctor show up and pal around with Ten and Eleven and we don’t need Chris at all.”

some people are freaking out because the John Hurt!Doctor adds a regeneration to the canon, making Matt Smith the twelfth, and Time Lords who could regenerate could only have twelve regenerations, meaning the Doctor after Matt Smith will be the last.

Except A) the Time Lords did offer the Master a new regeneration cycle, except they’re all dead, so that’s probably out. B) River gave the Doctor her regenerations so it’s possible he could have more than thirteeen incarnations

and C) the Valeyard came from ‘between the Doctor’s twelfth and last incarnation’ implying a number more than twelve and thirteen.

really the BBC could keep the show going forever.

I personally want the John Hurt!Doctor to be connected to the Valeyard because the Valeyard was fucking evil and it would be really awesome to bring that back

what I don’t understand is if One saw Clara on Gallifrey, when he took the TARDIS for the first time, wouldn’t he remember that? I mean it’s kind of a big moment in his life. WOULDN’T HE RECOGNIZE THE FACE OF THE GIRL WHO STEERED HIM TOWARDS HIS TARDIS?!
